According to the National Safety Council, the direct costs of work related injuries in the US exceed $60 billion per year. The indirect costs include loss of expertise when employees cannot return to work, lost productivity due to employee discomfort, and the impact on employees’ quality of life. However, many lost work days can be prevented, especially those that result from chronic musculoskeletal problems.
Terry will provide helpful ideas on how to implement successful, cost-effective ergonomics initiatives in your workplace, to prevent disability and improve productivity. Using examples from over 20 years of experience, she will address some common myths that prevent companies from implementing these programs. In these challenging economic times, when employees are asked to do more with fewer resources, good ergonomic practices are important to keep employees productive.
