Today’s global marketplace, challenging business conditions and ever-changing workforce require all organizations to be diligent, pro-active and strategic with their people practices.   Recognizing their human capital as their major competitive advantage is essential.  All organizations- small, medium or large – have the ability to develop and implement talent management initiatives that are aligned with their organizational culture and linked into their business goals and objectives.  Retaining top talent, critical skill-sets as well as up and coming potential is vital to the success of every company.  What are some best practices that enable organizations to have effective and successful talent management efforts?  Engage in an interactive dialogue around Talent Management Practices that can enable your organization to retain its talent and build a pipeline for the future.

Information about our speaker:

Rita B. Allen

Rita B. Allen is the Founder and President of Rita B. Allen Associates, a provider of career management services for individuals and organizations.  She has several years of Human Resource Management experience in the areas of employment, employee relations, organizational development, compensation, benefits, career counseling, and management development.  In her previous role as Vice President of Marketing and Search Services with Gatti & Associates, a national search firm specializing in the search and placement of H.R. professionals, Ms. Allen directed firm wide marketing initiatives and specialized in senior level Human Resources search assignments with client companies representing a variety of industries including biotechnology, high technology, medical devices/pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, professional services, academia, healthcare, financial services and consumer products/retail. Prior to joining the firm, she held human resources positions with C.R. Bard, Inc., BTU International and Unitrode Corporation.

Allen has a successful track record partnering with management to align Human Resources initiatives with business strategies within a variety of business conditions including high-growth, start-ups, mergers, organizational change and resizing. Throughout her career, she has developed strong competencies in organizational design and structuring, leadership/talent coaching and development, team building, change management, staffing/recruitment, employee relations and relationship building.  As a search consultant, she has worked closely with senior executives within a multitude of organizations to create and build effective Human Resources functions.  Throughout her career, she has advised, mentored, and counseled executives, managers and employees throughout all phases of their careers and critical decision making processes.

She holds a Master of Science in Leadership and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Northeastern University Cum Laude with concentrations in Management and Human Resources Management and is a member of the Sigma Epsilon Rho Honor Society. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of The Boston Club where she Chairs the Sponsorship Committee and also serves on the Board of Directors of the Association of Career Professionals International where she leads all Public Relations initiatives.  Rita is also an active member of the Northeast Human Resources Association (NEHRA), the Human Resource Leadership Forum (HRLF), the Founder and Former Chair of the Creative Work Options Network (CWON), a former member of the Board of Directors of the International Association for Human Resource Information Management (IHRIM), and a member of the Northeastern University Corporate Associates Program for Executives.  She is a frequent speaker at local events and has been a participant in discussions on radio, television and newspaper on the topics of Leadership, Personal Branding, Work/Life Balance, Job Search Strategies, Networking, Talent Acquisition, Career Management, Human Resources as a Strategic Partner and various other human resources issues. She has also published several articles regarding leadership development, flexible work schedules, successful networking and career management, which have appeared in the Boston Globe, Boston Women’s Business Journal and NEHRA’s Insights Magazine. She is certified in  the Myers Briggs Type Indicator® and the Strong Interest Inventory assessment tools and is an adjunct faculty member of Northeastern University’s School of Professional and Continuing Studies.
