Topic: How to Survive a Networking Event – even a Holiday Party
Do you dread attending meetings or social events? Would you like to feel more confident speaking to people you don’t know well? Does the thought of walking into a crowded room intimidate you? If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, then you will benefit from attending this presentation.
From conferences to weddings to holiday parties, we all attend many events. This presentation will provide attendees with the tools necessary to ease anxiety and build confidence when interacting with people they do not know.
Learn basic networking etiquette; how to walk into a room and “work” the room; practice the art of starting, maintaining and exiting conversations gracefully; and develop a sense of how you want to leave the event with some type of ROI.

Carolyn Raitt, SPHR
Carolyn has over 15 years of human resources experience with an emphasis on customized training, outplacement consulting, human resources consulting to small businesses, and employee relations. She worked at Fidelity Investments for 11 years, 7 of which were spent in a variety of HR roles within Corporate and the line business. She moved to Michigan with her husband in 1993 and attended Michigan State University full time, graduating with a BA in HR Management in 1996. After graduating, she started her own consulting business, Sterling HR Services, which provided human resources management consulting to small businesses in the greater Lansing area. She acquired her SPHR in 1999 prior to moving back to New Hampshire. After returning to New England, she joined Keystone Associates as an Outplacement Consultant and Trainer as well as consulted for Effective Networking, Inc. She rejoined Fidelity Investments on a full-time basis in 2006 and currently holds a position as an HR Manager specializing in Employee Relations in the company’s Merrimack, New Hampshire site.
More recently Carolyn is now the Director of HR for one of the Shared Services groups in Merrimack which includes Supply Management and the Cash, Custody and Control group.
